After the demise of Sri Krishna, before setting off on the final pilgrimage (Mahaprasthana) with his brothers, Yudhishthira installed Sri Krishna’s great-grandson, Vajranabha, on the royal throne of Mathura. To immortalize the memory and worship of Sri Krishna, Vajranabha established various sacred deities of Krishna in temples across the region and developed the sites associated with Krishna’s divine pastimes (Krishna-lila) into pilgrimage places. However, with the passage of time, everything eventually fell into ruin.

Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu appeared and, through his devotees and Goswamis, restored these lost pilgrimage sites. He also initiated a powerful wave of devotion. Guided by the successors of Mahaprabhu, that wave eventually reached distant Manipur.

In this book, the author has attempted to recount those historical events through his writings.
