Aswini Kumar Sinha was a pioneering dramatist born in Bhatirgram village of Narsingpur block in Cachar district, Assam. Son of a ayurvedic practitioner Lalbabu Sinha, he studied Ayurveda in Dhaka and spent several years in Imphal before training in Manipuri dance alongside Guru Bipin Singh under ‘Guru Senarik Rajkumar.
