Manindra Kumar

Retired IFS who served in the Assam Forest Department and was also the longest serving president of the Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Sabha apart from being the president of the Bishnupriya Manipuri Samaj Sangstha. He is renowned for this administrative skill and a social worker who was also instrumental in the getting the K. Kumadhan case in favour, involving the nomenclature of the community in the Gauhati High Court and the Supreme Court of India. He also had noteworthy contribution towards the first appointment of the 149 Bishnupriya Manipuri language teachers.
